I wish people would stop talking about Oscar possibilities for Keira Knightley. I mean, come on. I'm excited about the film, but I'm not that excited. Judging from the clips, it's not exactly Oscar material. These kinds of expectations bother me almost as much as the persistent bashing.

Eh, maybe for costumes or something like that, but I think expecting one of the major awards (actor, actress, picture, director, etc.) is expecting too much.

I just like to keep my expectations low. heh.

Does anybody know if Working Title is in the habit of procuring nominations?

I've just realized that I spelled "nominated" wrong. Oops..... sorry!

Perhaps the British people will crazy enough to give Keria Knightley a BAFTA (well, it gave Jamie Bell the best actor award a few years ago for Billy Elliot). Who knows. Oscar??? I agree with you. . . the expectation is too much.

PS: Working Title movies that had earned Oscar nominations:
Elizabeth
Fargo
Dead Man Walking
Fargo
Bridget Jones's Diary
Four Weddings and a Funeral
Thirteen

After creating this list, I think the chances for Pride and Prejudice to get nominated isn't that bad.

Bridget Jones's Diary was nominated for something? Really? 0.o

(Oh, is that what Renee Zellweger won for, then?)

Shows how well I keep up. I'd forgotten about Fargo, too -- and of course, Elizabeth was before I noticed studio names. heh.

Well, I guess if BJD was nominated, P&P3 can get nominated. I'm still determined to keep my expectations low on that front, however. :)

Yeah, it's a pretty gruesome movie. I only saw it because of the combination of the Coen brothers and William H. Macy. *g*

Oops! I deleted my post because I wanted to add something. It seems that I keep forgetting to proof-read my comments tonight! :P

I was going to asked if I'd typed Fargo twice in my last reply. . .
