Okeechobee is the little circle of blue you see when you look at a map of Florida. A big lake. There's a city named after it, and for a few weeks, my parents were talking about possibly moving there, because it's cheaper than West Palm Beach, blah blah blah. All that's out there are McMansions and giant pickup trucks.
We've never really liked Florida; the only reason we stayed so long is because of my mother, who A) needed to be in a warmer climate because of rheumatoid arthritis, and B) was happy to finally be in a house of our own, rather than renting. Now she no longer needs the warmer climate, and the value of the house we're living in now is far greater than any house we'd need in Detroit, and could even possibly cover the cost of a house in PA. Plus, her best friend in the world lives in PA, and we're running short on friends here.
You could come to Florida, and I could teach you piano. At least until we move. ;)
Jericho is an apocolyptic tale about how the citizens of a small town in Kansas each react to a nuclear attack on the United States. It's hard to sum up because there are so many characters, but it's mostly about Jake Green and Robert Hawkins, at least for me. Maybe Robert Hawkins and the Green family.
I think I'm going to have to go back to school soon. I get depressed when I'm not doing something productive.
