Jul. 16th, 2005 07:32 pmHow much do I hate that it's Saturday? All piano stores are closed. And I had just made the decision to call someone to have my piano tuned and repaired. You see, I could deal with it being a little bit out of tune; my pitch isn't so perfect that the slightest offness hurts my ears, unfortunately. But once the sustain pedal (or whatever it's called; I'm horrible with official names of things) stopped working, I couldn't bear it. Beethoven doesn't sound right without the sustain. Basically the only thing I can play without sustain is Bach, because his stuff was composed pre-pianoforte, and harpsichords didn't have dynamics, so they sound fine that way. All this to say I haven't played piano in about a month now, and I'm going crazy! I even tried using my dad's keyboard instead, but that just made it worse. The touch is totally different, and the keys aren't even the same size, my fingers got all confused. :(

ETA: In better news, I got an A on my economics test. Was very surprised; I was crossing my fingers for a B. My dad said I could choose the dinner tonight to celebrate, but he ended up getting KFC anyway. Oh, well.
