How much do I hate that it's Saturday? All piano stores are closed. And I had just made the decision to call someone to have my piano tuned and repaired. You see, I could deal with it being a little bit out of tune; my pitch isn't so perfect that the slightest offness hurts my ears, unfortunately. But once the sustain pedal (or whatever it's called; I'm horrible with official names of things) stopped working, I couldn't bear it. Beethoven doesn't sound right without the sustain. Basically the only thing I can play without sustain is Bach, because his stuff was composed pre-pianoforte, and harpsichords didn't have dynamics, so they sound fine that way. All this to say I haven't played piano in about a month now, and I'm going crazy! I even tried using my dad's keyboard instead, but that just made it worse. The touch is totally different, and the keys aren't even the same size, my fingers got all confused. :(

*bites pillow*

ETA: In better news, I got an A on my economics test. Was very surprised; I was crossing my fingers for a B. My dad said I could choose the dinner tonight to celebrate, but he ended up getting KFC anyway. Oh, well.

I have an essay due Tuesday, a research paper due next Saturday, and my room is about to swallow me up in the sea of laundry that has been piling up the last few weeks. I came into my room to get started on that research paper, intending to write some BL if I couldn't resist Procrastination, but of course I'm fiddling with my LJ instead.

*sigh* It will get done. I shall conquer this.

Things haven't gone very well today. Not that they've gone horribly wrong. I'm just now starting to be annoyed by it.

1. Arrived at work to find out the doctor had changed the starting time to a half hour earlier and hadn't told me. Thanks, Dr. B., I really love walking into a waiting room full of patients. Actually, I don't really mind not being told it was moved, per se, because then I would have had to get up earlier. But it's the principle of it: too many times people "forget" to tell me important things. You're already giving all my work to Lindy, you don't have to rub it in my face that I obviously don't matter to you.

2. Also discovered, once I'd been there a couple hours, that there was a birthday lunch planned for one of the girls in the office. That's fine; they had told me about that, I'd just forgotten it. But that meant I had to call my father and let him know not to pick me up at the previously agreed-upon time. Except for one thing: my father seems to have misplaced his phone. Not a cell phone, his regular one. And yeah, it's cordless, but it also has a handy pager thing, not to mention a very loud ring. And yet it's been misplaced. So all those times I called, wondering what on earth was going on that nobody was answering the phone, it was just because it was lost. (I finally reached him on my sister's cell phone.)

3. I can't seem to get going on BL. Or any type of writing. It's a bummer.

4. My sisters can't seem to stay out of my room. If I leave for a second, one of them has taken over the computer. I've asked them not to jump online without asking, or to use our parents' computer instead, or any number of compromises, but they never listen. Nicole bought a new doorknob for our room that comes with keys and actually locks (the other one locked, but was easy to pick). I guess I'll just have to remember to lock the door whenever I want a snack, or whatever. *grumble*

5. Despite having a great, talented team, the Marlins keep finding ways to lose. *grumble grumble*

So one or two of those annoyances by themselves would not bother me, but all of them together have put me in a really crappy mood. I think I will have to actually get some writing done to snap out of it. Either that, or the Marlins will have to win. Maybe both.

Long, disjointed ramble about school, boys, work, writing, and movie stars.....yeah )

I'm coming down with a cold. Well, a sore throat, not so much with the sniffles and general leakage. This makes me sadder than usual, because I have a sort-of date tomorrow, and now I might not have a voice when I wake up. :(

On the other hand, am relieved it is an actual cold that I caught from someone else (Christi! grrr!) and not necessarily a result of having put a fan in my room. I love my fan -- it keeps all the nasty noises from the living room out of my bedroom, and lets me sleep at night.

There is a fly buzzing around my room; I don't know how it got here, but it is huge.

Nicole ate the last orange. And she wouldn't give me one piece. Now the only thing to snack on is matzoh.

People bug me, generally speaking.

I have three chapters to read on economics before Saturday. May I say blech?

I got up too early to be productive. Went to the dentist for a cleaning, then three hours later to the orthodontist for my records. The orthodontist office called me right back, took the x-rays, and sent me back into the waiting room, to wait for the doctor to have a meeting with us. We waited at least an hour and a half for this guy. So annoying. They must have scheduled everybody for 2:00. Swanky new office, though. SpongeBob Squarepants theme. But what kind of orthodontist office serves cookies and brownies to the people in the waiting room??

Netflix came today. Watched two episodes of MI-5. Yay. But what do Egyptians do to sex offenders, anyway?

I'm annoyed. Seriously irritated. I'm not sure what started it today, but it's pretty bad when not even Forbidden Broadway can cheer me up.

*grump*

I'm so bored.

I have to get to bed earlier than usual tonight, because the roofers are coming tomorrow to start work on rebuilding our roof. Just before the next hurricane season! Yay! *eyeroll*

Did not get any writing done today. Entire day was planned around Mother's Day meal at the local Italian restaurant. Was very yummy, but was so full afterwards, could not do anything. Managed to wash my hair, and that's about it. And I bought a new pillow, so sleeping should go better now. Actually, the new pillow is why I haven't gone to bed yet: my hair's still wet, and I didn't want to ruin the new feel. heh.

Funny conversation with my sisters last night:
[context: I had wandered out into the living room at 3:30 am because sibs were being loud in the living room and I could not sleep with all the racket. I did not take my glasses with me, because I expected to go back to bed after delivering a scold, but ended up sitting down and giggling with them for about half an hour. Anyway.]

Me, peering around: I can't seeeee!
Nicole: You should be glad you can't see, because Christi just walked by you with an enormous wedgie.
Me: Oh. *giggle*
Christi: Shut up. You wish you had my wedgie.
*Nicole and I giggle uncontrollably*

Work ramble )

Oh, and I start school next week.

Neighbors driving by with their loud music.... and rattling my windows with it. Very upsetting when one is trying to read .... or ever.

Can't even tell what kind of music it is, though with the bass turned up as high as it is, I'm guessing hip hop.

The problem with having a nonconfrontational personality is that, once you do get mad, it's perceived as being "psycho," because of course nobody remembers the actual cause.

*sigh*

*deep breaths, in and out*
gabbydwg: (don't feel pretty)
I should not be allowed on the internet after midnight. I start to get annoyed at everything.

Bah.
